Free Tax Resources
Hampshire and Franklin Counties:
Community Action Pioneer Valley’s VITA program helps taxpayers with lower incomes maximize their tax refund and reduce their taxes due. Taxes are prepared by IRS-certified volunteers and then filed electronically. VITA services are offered from February through April.
Eligibility is based on three factors:
-Your town of residence (must be within service area for Community Action)
-Your annual income (AGI must be below certain limits)
-Your tax situation (some income sources are outside the scope)

Hampden County:
Valley Opportunity Council offers free tax preparation through VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) to those of low- to moderate-income residing in Massachusetts.
