Small Business Client Spotlight: Gardening for the Future

Gardening for the Future is a garden education business that supports people to learn how to grow food and build community in the face of climate change.  The pillar course meets monthly for nine months each year, guiding students through the growing season and teaching them timely skills from garden planning to soil testing, no-till techniques, seed saving, and more!  In addition, Gardening for the Future partners with other local small businesses and artists to offer courses about social and ecological skill building.

Rose Cherneff, who is the founder and lead educator at Gardening for the Future, has been working with Valley Community Development’s Eyad Salha since they started the process to get their business license over two years ago.   Meeting with Eyad has been incredibly helpful every step of the way, from launching the business to creating a business plan and setting budget goals as their small business grows.  Rose looks forward to their meetings with Eyad to gain his perspective, wisdom, and guidance, and always leaves feeling supported knowing there is someone ready to support them with any challenges that come their way.
