Roberto Saravia has been in the restaurant business since he was 14 years old. When he decided to open Masa Mexicano in 2020, he was able to bring his invaluable food industry knowledge to his own restaurant.
Masa Mexicano provides authentic Mexican cuisine. The restaurant offers tacos, tortas, sopas, and other traditional dishes, some with local and regionally sourced ingredients. Saravia takes pride in the time and care that goes into each of his recipes, such as the tortillas made on-site daily using corn grown in Oaxaca, Mexico. Masa Mexicano has staples and changing weekly specials to ensure customers will want to come back again to try something new. One Sunday a month they host a pupusas and tamales event combining both Mexican and El Salvadorian cuisines.
Saravia worked with Valley’s Small Business Program Manager, Sarah Sargent, to explore funding options to expand his business and develop bookkeeping practices that would help him while expanding.
